Stitch it, Don’t ditch it – basic mending course!

In an effort to reduce the amount of textile waste, and to help reduce the cost of replacing  school uniforms and other items of adult and childrens clothing by extending its life “THE LITTLE SCHOOL OF NEEDLE CRAFT ” is starting a new course in ‘Mend and make do’ teaching, basic stitching, repurposing & refashioning skills.

The course starts on Tuesday 10th of January 2023 and is designed for people who want to learn beginners sewing and mending skills. The course content includes basic but useful skills like  sewing on buttons,   school badges and labels , hemming and taking up trousers and skirts by hand, fixing torn clothing , patching holes, darning jumpers and socks, visible mending of jeans and woolly jumpers, stitching torn seams and anything else that may come up during the course!

The course is reasonably priced at £75 for a block of 6 classes and is held in North Creake on a Tuesday mornings from 10am until 12pm. We supply everything you need to get started, just bring the items of clothing you want to work on. The Little School Of Needlecraft currently teaches a variety of courses and workshops taught by local and national textile artists and experts, covering Embroidery, Monogramming, Goldwork, Knitting, Crochet, Visible Mending, Colour confidence & Design. New courses are regularly added to the website.
