A beautiful gift of flowers from a dear friend and neighbour picked from her wildflower meadow became the inspiration for an embroidery on a the back of a Denim Jacket. Quite often it is the little things that give you inspiration to create, shapes, colours, feelings of happiness in a certain environment or place.

A trip to Holland during the tulip season and my Dutch addiction for tulips was the inspiration for this colourful Denim Jacket, the challenge was getting the perspective right, it took a long time to stitch all the tulips but my new slate embroidery frame which kept the Denim beautifully stretched and new skills learned at a course I took at Hand and Lock In London helped tremendously.

Bodnant gardens in Wales was a place that had been on my bucket list for ages, especially during the time that the laburnum arch was flowering and of course it had to become an embroidery, this is also the first time I used acrylics to under paint an embroidery (with the guidance of my husband Peter @peterrocklinfinearts)
